Jacob Martin, MD, Certified-PA-CDI, Certified Instructor-CDI, Diplomate ABPM, Diplomate ABQAURP, is a physician with more than 40 years of clinical and healthcare experience spanning emergency medicine, sports medicine, forensic medicine, preventive and occupational medicine, and insurance medicine.

Dr. Martin holds permanent board certification through the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM) and board certification through the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP), with recertification every two years. He is also a Certified Physician Advisor in Clinical Documentation Integrity (Certified-PA-CDI) and Certified CDI Instructor.

With more than 20 years of experience in the clinical documentation integrity arena, Dr. Martin has worked with hospitals and health systems across the United States, partnering with both developing and established CDI programs as a physician champion, educator, and clinical documentation advocate. His work focuses on strengthening physician documentation through practical education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the integration of clinical judgment and medical decision-making into the medical record.

Dr. Martin believes that complete, accurate, clinically relevant, and defensible documentation is a sine qua non for an effective and high-performing revenue cycle.
